Emmitt Smith was recently asked by NFL.com about Seattle Seahawks running Marshawn Lynch.
“I know Adrian Peterson is a little different, but Marshawn Lynch is a very, very tough running back,” Smith said. “When I look at him running, his running style, I haven’t seen anyone out there quite like him.”
There is one, and his name is Chris Ivory.
As one defensive coordinator put it, “Marshawn Lynch and Chris Ivory are the two most violent runners in the NFL.”
Lynch and Ivory are both superb at breaking tackles. On Ivory’s 15-yard touchdown run against Oakland, he broke tackle attempts from FIVE different Raiders, in this order – – DE Lamar Houston then S Charles Woodson, S Brandian Ross, LB Sio Moore and CB Tracy Porter.
Marshawn and Chris are both nightmares for defenders to tackle. They both have indomitable wills and refuse to go down.
