Esiason has a suggestion for a department on Jets business side . . .

Former Jets QB Boomer Esiason had some powerful words for his former team on his WFAN radio show on Monday morning about their 23-12 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

“The fact that the Jets ran 32 offensive plays and the Bears had 34 first downs – that’s insane – that is an ass-kicking- that’s what that is, and there is no sugar-coating anything,” Esiason said.

Esiason thinks this is the worst outing by all three units he’s seen over the years.

“I think this is one of the worst performances ever by the entire team,” Esiason said.

And he thinks the team’s upper management should send a message to the team’s social media department about what they post this week on X (Twitter), Instagram and so forth, and don’t try to put lipstick on what just happened or attempt to sell any moral victories.

“Whatever you put out there – when you look at the replies – forget it – it’s like throwing chum into sharks,” Esiason said.

It’s very common in the sports world these days for the teams to have social media departments posting all day, every day, attempting to keep the fans engaged.

And on some level it’s unfair to blame them for their constant posts. That is what they were hired to do.

But Esiason feels their bosses might need to issue an edict to them this week.

“I would tell the social media team now to lay low,” Esiason said. “Just to lay low.”
