Quinton Coples know he’s a work-in-progress.
“It’s been a learning process for me, learning the different schemes in the defense,” Coples said.
While learning the defense has been a big challenge, diagnosing opposing offensive formations isn’t a walk on the beach, either.
“Just reacting to what the offense gives you, knowing the personnel, knowing the formation, how to react to certain different blocks and things of that nature,” Coples said.
“I’ve been spending more time with the coaches, understanding the defense and recognizing blocks and its finally paying off.”
Coples now realizes, his role as a 3-4 end, isn’t just about making plays, but helping other players do their job better.
“I just need to get out there, and take on some of those tackles for the linebackers as well and make plays as well for myself,” Cpples said.
