Former Jets offensive lineman Willie Colon about his former team on FS1 -“They’ve sold their souls to Aaron Rodgers.”
What that means, it’s not entirely clear, but here is how the concept is explained by the Free Dictionary website:
“If someone sells their soul for something, they do whatever they need to in order to get that thing, doing things that they considered wrong before.”
Well considering the Jets had missed the playoffs the 12 years prior to the Rodgers trade last spring, maybe doing “whatever they need to in order to get that thing (the playoffs),” wasn’t such a bad idea.
And in trading for a four-time NFL MVP QB, they felt that could help them turn around their fortunes.
Obviously nobody expected him to get hurt on the Jets’ fourth offensive play of the season.
