It looks like a solid group, but perhaps there isn’t one superstar that stands out.
Former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah, now with the NFL Network, had this to say about the top receivers in the upcoming draft:
“I think this is a really solid group,” Jeremiah said. “I think this top six or seven guys I really, really like. Now, there’s not a Ja’Marr Chase. I would have a higher grade on Ja’Marr Chase (Bengals) than anybody in this group. Devonta Smith (Eagles) I would have a higher grade. Same with Jaylen Waddle (Dolphins). I would probably take those guys over anybody in this group. But I really like this group, and I think it’s, again, got those six or seven guys that you really like there at the top.”
Jeremiah has six receivers with first-round grades, and ranks them in this order – Garrett Wilson (Ohio State), Drake London (USC), Chris Olave (Ohio State), Jameson Williams (Alabama), Treylon Burks (Arkansas) and Jahan Dotson (Penn State).
The former Ravens, Browns and Eagles scout thinks if you plan on waiting to pick a receiver, don’t wait too long.
“I don’t think the depth into like the fourth round and beyond is as good as some of the others we’ve seen, but I think up until that point it’s pretty good,” Jeremiah said.
