When asked about his performance against the Giants, Geno Smith summed it up very well, and John Idzik needs to take heed.
“It (was) pretty uneven,” Smith said. “I had some ups and downs. It’s all a part of the learning curve. If you want to pinpoint some things, turnovers were definitely one of the things I needed to eliminate. Like I said, it’s just part of going out there, getting reps and being a rookie. Every single thing is going to be a learning experience for me and something I can use in the future.”
Very, very well put.
Idzik needs to listen to his rookie QB, and take off the rose-colored glasses.
Geno Smith isn’t instant coffee.
You don’t “hand him the car keys,” as Mike Mayock put it.
He’s a project (with a big upside).
Stop rushing him.
