Glenn must listen to these guys on this huge decision . . .

Aaron Glenn/Darren Mougey obviously need to get this QB decision right.

When it comes to this huge decision, if I’m Glenn, I’m leaning heavily, and I mean heavily, on the trio of Mougey, Frank Reich, and Bill Musgrave.

Mougey played QB in high school, was recruited to play the position at San Diego State.

The Jets GM played the position – evaluating QBs on a high level is in his wheelhouse.

Reich, the Jets’ new offensive coordinator, was a college QB at Maryland and for 14 years in the NFL, mostly with the Buffalo Bills

And after his playing career, Reich has spent a lot of time coaching quarterbacks, offenses, and while a HC, continuing to run offenses.

This cat knows how to evaluate QBs better than most.

As does the Jets’ new QB coach, Musgrave, a former star QB at Oregon, who was a backup in the NFL for seven years, and after retiring as a player, has been coaching QBs and offenses ever since.

Glenn must listen to these three guys when it comes to the team’s QB path coming up. They know from whence they speak.

In all fairness, the Jets’ handling of their QB room last year was far from ideal.

You get the sense Glenn was driving the bus on most, if not all, of these QB decisions. He entered the building in 2025 with a huge contract and tremendous power.

He didn’t handle his QB room very well. He knows it. We all know it. There is no hiding from this.

But as Spanish philosopher George Santayana famously said, “Those who don’t remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

As one of Glenn’s mentors, Bill Parcells liked to say, “Know who you are.”

Glenn is a defensive guru, and now will be running that side of the ball with new DC Brian Duker.

And he should let Mougey, Reich, and Musgrave be his QB selection committee.
