Santonio Holmes is wrong.
The wide receiver was asked by NBC Sports who the Jets’ starting quarterback is right now, and his answer was incorrect.
“Right now, it’s (Mark) Sanchez, and that’s who we’re going with and we’re going to continue on this road until time permits,” Holmes said to NBC Sports on their cable channel.
That isn’t accurate.
“Right now,” the team is holding an open competition between Sanchez, David Garrard, Greg McElroy, Geno Smith and Matt Simms for their starting QB job.
“Right now,” nobody is the starter.
