Florham Park – I’m not an offensive line coach and I don’t play one on television.
So when it comes to truly assessing how the Jets’ 2024 first-round pick Olu Fashanu is performing in camp, I will leave that to his position coach Keith Carter.
However, my one observation, watching him for the first week-and-a-half of training camp is very few bad things have happened on his watch.
It’s hard to think of many plays, if any, where you would say, “Wow, Olu got beat on that play.”
Once again, I will leave the grading to Carter and assistant O-Line coach Ben Wilkerson.
But watching Fashanu perform in camp so far, it’s hard to think of any jailbreaks on his side.
While he obviously has some things to work on like all rookies, he has seemed very trustworthy and reliable in protecting various quarterbacks blindsides in camp.
