Surprisingly, two Jets executives, heavily involved in their draft prep, left the team over the last month – assistant GM Rex Hogan and director of player personnel, Chad Alexander.
Usually, these kinds of departures occur after the April draft, since the draft preparation process is so far along. This is very unusual.
So how will the Jets fill these voids?
“I go back to the guys that we do have, and the experience that we do have,” Jets GM Joe Douglas said Wednesday. “Guys like Phil Savage who has been around for a long time, since the original Cleveland days, a former general manager, Jon Carr, director of college
scouting, (scouts like) Jay Mandolesi, John Stigall, we have an unbelievable group of college scouts and pro scouts, headed up by Greg Nejmah. They’ve really stepped up, they’ve done a great job.”
