The Athletic’s Dianna Russini announced on her podcast that the Jets’ new brass told Aaron Rodgers, if you want to come back to the team, “You’re not going to do Pat McAfee interviews anymore.”
If this is accurate, good for them.
These weekly appearances were constant distractions for the last two years.
Every time Rodgers did his weekly appearance with McAfee and his clapping seals, it made news, and in turn, often created distractions, even two seasons ago when the QB was on IR.
So if Russini’s information is correct here, hat-tip to the Jets.
In the NFL, the good cultures, “make the main thing the main thing,” as philosopher Stephen Covey liked to say.
Doing the weekly show with the host in the tank top was far from “the main thing.”
