While Jay Glazer did report today that Rex Ryan told the team that he’s probably a goner after the season, the reporter didn’t report Rex was going to be fired.
Glazer said, “Whether or not that decision is made, we don’t know.”
It’s very possible the coach was attempting to call the GM’s bluff.
After all, Rex seems very popular with his players and a lot of Jets fans.
So if you throw out there you are a goner, it could turn up the heat on John Idzik, from the Jets’ Nation, so to speak, to keep the coach around.
But once again, it’s very important to point out, Glazer, who broke this story, never said Ryan is going to be fired.
