Is this Jets issue an aberration or a problem? We will find out Sunday!

After a strong start to the season in a win over Tennessee, the Jets offensive line has been somewhat inconsistent in the last two games, losses to Green Bay and Detroit.

Aside from issues running the ball in the last two games, after dominating on the ground in Nashville, the pass protection has been substandard as well, giving up a combined nine sacks against the Packers and Lions.

Jets offensive coordinator Frank Reich admitted on Thursday the play up front has been inconsistent the last two games.

“Yeah, I mean there’s no doubt it has not been up to par the last two weeks,” Reich said.

Especially the run game.

“I’m the offensive coordinator, so I’m ultimately responsible for a poor run game,” Reich said.

But Reich has a message for those concerned.

“Don’t panic,” Reich said.

Why?

“Two games is a small sample; the two bad games,” Reich said. “I’ve been part of seasons where we’ve been really good at running the ball, and you have a bad two-game stretch; it’s just sometimes the way things go.”

We will certainly find out on Sunday at Soldier Field if the last two games were an aberration or a trend.
