Cortland – Throughout camp, Brian Winters and Oday Aboushi have been engaged in a battle for the Jets’ left guard spot.
The players were taking turns starting.
But the last couple of days, Winters has held down the job, and Aboushi is getting a lot of reps with the second team at right tackle.
Rex Ryan raved about how Winters played against the Indianapolis Colts in the Jets’ first preseason game. Ryan said if they had game balls for preseason games, Winters would have received one.
So it’s quite possible a decision has been made here.
No announcement has been made.
But at some point in camp, the Jets need to settle on a starting left guard, so their offensive line can work on continuity.
