According to J.P. Pelzman of the Bergen Record and Green Machine Blog, the Jets claimed seven players on waivers over the weekend.
“I’ve been told by an NFL source that the Jets made an NFL-high seven waiver claims Sunday,” wrote Pelzman on his blog. “Besides the three players they were awarded, DL Marcus Dixon [Dallas], T Patrick Brown [Minnesota] and WR Patrick Turner [Miami], they also put in claims for Chicago DL Jarron Gilbert. Minnesota WR Logan Payne, Chicago LB Tim Shaw [claimed by Tennessee and Pittsburgh OL Kraig Urbik [claimed by Buffalo]. Dixon was the priority over Gilbert, so that’s why the Jets were awarded him. Teams must prioritize the players if they claim multiple ones at the same position.”
This is all a big game to some people at One Jets Drive.
It was so important to claim Brown and throw Chauncey Washington to the curb, when the team already has Wayne Hunter as the backup swing tackle.
