Jet quarterback Mark Sanchez, coming off a very inconsistent season, was rewarded with a new five-year contract.
He had two years left on his rookie deal, and this adds three more seasons to his original rookie contract.
The Jets, and Sanchez, think last year was an aberration, and we will see if they are right.
There will continue to be no competition for Sanchez at the position – that was pretty clear from the conference call with Mike Tannenbaum.
