The Jets, under a new head coach and GM, are off to a 0-5 start this season.
You will hear the narrative from some that “it takes time” to build a foundation/winning culture.
That is fine, but while you are trying to build something the right way, you could argue that it shouldn’t look this bad along the way.
Some might make the case that issues, like 23 penalties, in the last two games, should not be going on, whether you are rebuilding/retooling or not.
So it’s important for the Jets’ top brass – Woody, Christopher, Ira, and Hymie not to fall into the narrative trap that “it takes time” as the reason for the team’s woes so far this season.
Look, I’m not calling for anybody to be fired. I don’t do that, and it’s not the point of this blog.
The point is that the Jets’ top brass can’t use “it takes time” as the panacea that will eventually get the Jets out of their current malaise.
Yes, “it takes time,” but there are other things that need to be fixed if the Jets are going to escape this abyss.
Like figuring out what went into the personnel decisions that led to the current state of the team’s defense.
