With the ninth pick of the first round, the Jets picked CB DeMarcus “Dee” Milliner.
His last name is pronounced “MILL-NER.”
“He has Pro Bowl potential,” wrote Nolan Nawrocki, of Pro Football Weekly, perhaps the best draft analyst in the business. “He’s a natural ballhawk and supports the run effectively.”
He has a very nice size (5-11 7/8, 201)-speed (4.38) ratio.
The big concern with Milliner is that he has had five surgeries in his life, with the latest being for a torn labrum.
Five surgeries and he’s only 21, so the Jets are taking a medical risk with this pick.
