Jets QB decision isn’t that hard

Who should the Jets starting quarterback be against the Houston Texans?

It’s probably not that complicated.

Trevor Siemian.

To judge Siemian based on a short stint against the Atlanta Falcons, in relief of Tim Boyle, is probably a tad unfair.

Give him a week of starting reps in practice, with a game plan tailored to his skill set, and see what he can do against Houston.

This isn’t Siemian’s first rodeo. He has 30 career starts, including going 13-11 as the Denver Broncos QB in 2016-17.

Not putting him in Canton, but he can manage a game. After the Jets’ loss to the Raiders in Las Vegas on November 12, former NFL player, and current analyst, Mark Schlereth, said on his podcast with Trey Wingo: “I’m going to tell you right now, if they play Trevor Siemian, they’re winning that game (against the Raiders). Trevor Siemian is a professional quarterback. He’s going to put you in the right play. He’s going to make the right check. He’s not going to make bonehead decisions and if the guy is open he’s going to hit him..”

So going with Siemian, after a week of first-team practice reps, is probably the way to go for Gang Green.
