It looked really bad, but then he returned . . .

Florham Park – You have to give Jets rookie cornerback Azareye’h Thomas a lot of credit for his toughness.

He was injured in the second quarter against Miami and was down on the field for a while, while being attended to by trainers and doctors.

It looked bad.

Players from both teams were praying for him on the field.

He eventually walked off under his own power.

And he actually returned to action in the second half.

It turned out to be a shoulder injury, not a neck or head.

And he told JC after the game that as long as he had “range of motion” in his shoulder, he was going to play.

In other words, he can deal with some pain as long as the shoulder is functioning correctly.

It shows you he’s made of the right stuff and will fight through pain and play hurt.

Thomas, who the Jets picked in the 2025 third round out of Florida State, looks like a nice draft pick for Gang Green.

He’s made several impressive plays in coverage this season, including on the play where he got hurt, stopping Miami WR Malik Washington for a two-yard loss on a bubble screen.
