Florham Park – The Jets signed QB Brady Quinn on Monday. The announcement was made by Bruce Speight.
With Mark Sanchez likely out this week (he wasn’t practicing today) and Geno Smith dealing with an ankle injury, Quinn provides the Jets insurance.
Matt Simms probably isn’t ready for prime time yet. He had a terrific outing against Philadelphia Eagles backups in the fourth preseason game.
So you could do a lot worse as far as an insurance policy than Brady Quinn, a first round pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 2007 draft, who has a background in the West Coast offense.
Quinn has a lot more NFL game experience than Smith and Simms.
