New York Jets legend Joe Namath will visit the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, Tuesday, Aug. 30 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, the same day the LATE SHOW marks its 18th anniversary on the Network.
Namath, nicknamed “Broadway Joe” by football fans, is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and an icon among the Jets’ faithful. He is perhaps best known for his bold guarantee of a Jets Super Bowl win over the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III in 1969, and then making good on that promise with the Jets’ 16-7 victory. Namath is promoting the recently launched 2011 Topps football cards, which include a special insert called “Super Bowl Legends.”
Also on the Tuesday, Aug. 30 broadcast there will be a performance by musical guest Lenny Kravitz.
