Green Bay Packers shut out the New Orleans Saints 34-0 last night on Monday Night Football.
It was the first shutout of the NFL season.
First-year coordinator Jeff Hafley is the man lording over the Packers’ defensive resurgence this year.
The Montvale, NJ native, and graduate of Pascack Hills High School, has done a terrific job with a defense that struggled in previous seasons, especially against the run. They are now a top-10 run defense.
This guy should be on the Jets’ radar if they can’t get Mike Vrabel, especially since he has head coaching experience, running the Boston College program for three years.
At this time in Jets history, they probably need to hire a head coach, who has been a head coach before, even if it was on the college level.
His coaching career also includes one year as Ohio State defensive coordinator (2019) and seven years as an NFL assistant coach (2012-18).
Hafley could be an under-the-radar candidate for the Jets.
He has a strong resume and has done a heck of a job fixing the Packers’ defense and that was on full display on Monday Night Football.
