Some people in the media want to blame Aaron Rodgers for Robert Saleh’s firing.
Some people want to blame a patch the coach was wearing on his sweatshirt.
Let’s cut out the conspiracy theories folks.
It’s simple why Saleh was fired.
And the man replacing him, defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, knows why he was promoted to the job, albeit on an interim basis, at least for now.
“We’re not playing to our potential, we’re not,” Ulbrich said. “We’re too talented to be putting the product we put out there the last couple weeks especially.”
That is it.
The Jets have a very talented roster, a future Hall-of-Fame QB, and a manageable schedule, but are sitting at 2-3, losers of two winnable games in a row. So before the season spirals out of control, the owner wanted to change things up, to try and avoid wasting a loaded roster and a great window of opportunity for his franchise.
That is it.
Everybody can take off their tin foil hats.
