Titans’ QB Jake Locker suffered a hip injury in Tennessee’s blowout win over the Jets on Sunday, after getting hit by the one-two combination of Mo Wilkerson and Quinton Coples.
Titans coach Mike Munchak is unhappy with both hits.
“The first one, (Wilkerson) dropped his helmet into him and unloaded on him,” Munchak said. “You’re supposed to pull back on him when you’re late. He didn’t. The second one was totally unnecessary.”
But you know what, while the result of that play was unfortunate, so was the end result of the Jets’ first pass of the game.
Geno Smith threw an ill-advised pass to Stephen Hill that was behind him. It was intercepted by Alterraun Verner. After the pick, Titans safety Mike Griffin leveled Hill with a helmet-to-helmet hit, concussing the Jets’ wide receiver.
Griffin should be fined for his actions.
