Cortland – On the Indianapolis Colts’ first drive of their preseason loss to the New York Jets, they lost their starting center, Khaled Holmes, to a serious ankle injury.
And how did it happen?
While Holmes was blocking Damon Harrison, 6-4, 315-pound Mo Wilkerson fell on Holmes’ ankle.
Unfortunately, this happens way too often to NFL offensive linemen – while engaged with another player, another player falls on their leg. It’s impossible to protect yourself from this.
This is a bad injury for the Colts, who already lost another center, Donald Thomas, for the season.
