During his lengthy introductory press conference on January 24, new Jets GM John Idzik said a lot.
He was criticized by some for being too Pollyanna, considering he’s taking over a 6-10 team.
Maybe he was at times, but there was something he said early in the presser that encompasses a very important goal for the GM.
“Whenever you can build a cohesive unit, it’s trustworthy and they’re dedicated to a common cause, to each other,” Idzik said.
In other words, no more backstabbing and personal agendas – it’s time to focus on being a team, with a single-mindedness of purpose.
It will be interesting to see if he can accomplish this goal.
