Really interesting OT prospect on Jets roster Dan Leberfeld
With Mekhi Becton (knee) and Conor McDermott (leg) out of action perhaps temporarily, this guy will see a lot of action in practice and the preseason.
Talking about Chuma Edoga.
If you want to talk about a guy perfect for the Jets zone blocking scheme, it’s this guy. He’s very light on his feet, moves well laterally, and has long arms.
However, since joining the team as a 2019 third-round pick, he’s had a hard time putting it all together. Some of this was injury-related.
But we are talking about a five-star high school recruit out of Atlanta who all the big programs wanted, and he landed at USC.
He’s very talented, but his play has been a little uneven with Gang Green.
Now due to injuries to other players, he’s going to get a lot of action.
It’s time for him to take his game to the next level, either to show his wares to the Jets brass, or to another team as a tradable asset for Joe Douglas.
As scouts like to say about athletic linemen: “This guy has the feet of a dancing bear.”
And that line applies to Edoga.
Now he just needs to be more consistent.
