Rex Ryan deserves credit for making it clear – there will be a QB competition in Jetsland.
“The first snap, [Mark Sanchez will] be the guy running out there first,” Ryan said. “But there’s going to be competition at that spot, there’s no question about it. We need to get better at the quarterback position.”
Mark Sanchez, David Garrard, Greg McElroy and maybe a draft pick or another free agent QB – may the best man win.
Should Sanchez be the first guy running out there? Probably not, considering he was benched late last season, and only got his job back due to an injury.
But let’s not nitpick – as long as it’s an open competition, it’s not a big deal who runs out there first.
