Ithaca – Over the course of training camp, Rex Ryan and John Idzik have had a pair of 30-year-old offensive weapons on a pitch counts – WR Braylon Edwards and TE Kellen Winslow.
The pair have been kept out of a number of practices to help keep them fresh for the season. Both players have had some injury issues through the years.
So why not do the same with guard Willie Colon?
The former Steeler landed on IR each of his last three seasons in Pittsburgh, with achilles tendon, knee and arm injuries.
He’s also 30-years-old.
Why the pitch count for Edwards and Winslow and not Colon?
