Latest on Jets/Rodgers contract situation Dan Leberfeld

While we wait for the Jets and Green Bay to agree on trade terms for Gang Green to acquire Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, according to a report, something else has been agreed upon.

And that is how much money Rodgers will play for this season, according to former NFL GM Mike Lombardi, now with VSIN.

“This is what I’ve been told – they have negotiated a contract and [Rodgers] has excepted less money than the $50 million he’s owed,” Lombardi said.

So now that the contract is reportedly out of the way, it’s just a matter of the Packers and Jets agreeing to terms on a trade.

There has been speculation that a likely trade will perhaps include a Jets’ second-round pick this year and next year.
