Aaron Rodgers appeared this week on the “Keep Hammering Collective” podcast, and one question he was asked was how much the Jets reach out to him for input on personnel moves.
“The Jets have made a real concerted effort to involve me in the conversation,” Rodgers said. “I’ve got a real good relationship with the GM Joe Douglas. Him and I talk all the time. A lot of stuff is like sending pictures of cigars we’re smoking or whatever it might be. He loves fishing, so he might send me a picture of a fish he caught and I’ll send him my view looking at the sunset in Malibu, trying to make him jealous if it’s raining or snowing in New Jersey.
“They do a good job of getting my opinion of stuff, but in the end, they’ve got a job to do, and I’ve got a job to do, and there’s is making personnel decisions and moves, and mine is leading and playing and getting myself ready to go.”
What does Rodgers think the Jets need to add?
“We’re stacked on defense, we just need to sure up with offensive line a little and maybe add a receiver,” Rodgers said.
