Be wary of consultant class pushing friends or family Dan Leberfeld
The Jets have hired Charlie Casserly and Ron Wolf as consultants to help find them a new coach and GM.
They need to be careful with Wolf.
Did you know Wolf recommended that the Oakland Raiders hire Reggie McKenzie as their GM in 2012?
The Raiders are 11-37 in McKenzie’s tenure.
McKenzie worked for Wolf in Green Bay.
This seemed like a move where Wolf was trying to help an old employee get a GM job, perhaps more than doing what was best for the Raiders.
Wolf can certainly help the Jets as a consultant. He has a top-shelf football mind.
But the Jets can’t allow consultants to use them as an employment service for their friends and/or family (like Wolf’s son who works for the Packers).
