Kevin O’Connell is likely battling Eric Ainge for one backup quarterback spot.
And when Rex Ryan was asked about O’Connell’s play on Monday, he didn’t exactly offer effusive praise.
“He looks like Tom Brady (physically), but I’d like to see him play like Brady,” said Ryan.
After these comments, O’Connell proceeded to fumble a snap at the Monday afternoon mini-camp practice, but did have a couple of nice completions.
Ainge clearly outplayed O’Connell on the first day of minicamp.
