It was one of his better plays of the summer.
In the Jets-Commanders joint practice on Thursday, edge-rusher Will McDonald had an impressive QB pressure on Washington rookie QB Jayden Daniels, beating left tackle Cornelius Lucas off the edge to blow up the play.
It was almost like the veteran tackle was shocked at how quick McDonald was off the ball. This often happens early in a joint practice or game because it’s hard to gauge somebody’s speed on television or film (not that Lucas looked at film before this practice, but you get the point).
Some people want McDonald to gain weight (currently listed at 241), but perhaps that would take away his superpower – his speed off the edge.
On this play, it looked like he was shot out of a cannon after the snap.
