50 Senators sent a letter to the NFL protesting the Washington Redskins’ nickname.
Here is the NFL’s response to the New York Times . . .
“The intent of the team’s name has always been to present a strong, positive and respectful image,” the league said in a statement issued to the Times. “The name is not used by the team or the NFL in any other context, though we respect those that view it differently.”
Perhaps it’s time for the Redskins to change their name, but with so many serious issues plaguing the country and the world, you would think United States Senators would be focusing on other pressing matters right now.
