Former Cleveland Browns cornerback Buster Skrine is going to sign with the Jets. The announcement was made by ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Adam Caplan.
It sounds like the Browns didn’t want to lose him.
“Buster is one of my favorite guys on the defense,” Browns defensive coordinator Jim O’Neil said in December to the team’s website. “He embodies ‘Play Like a Brown.’ I don’t ever want to let good players walk out the door.”
“What helped Buster was the technique that we teach in this scheme, it really allowed him to play to his strengths,” secondary coach Jeff Hafley told the team’s website late in the season. “He was up on the line pressing, which is his bread and butter. Buster grew a ton — a ton.”
It sounds like the Jets are getting a player on the rise.
