On Wednesday, ESPN’s Rich Cimini asked Garrett Wilson about the rumors he is at odds with Aaron Rodgers and might want a trade.
“Yeah, I’ve seen some of that. Yeah, I mean, there’s no truth to that,” Wilson said to Cimini. “At the end of the day, I don’t speak on things like that because social media is not real. “
Some might agree that “social media is not real,” but is NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport real?
On December 29, Rapoport wrote, “Wilson has not requested a trade. But if Rodgers is back, that is one of the options for how to proceed.”

“I’ve talked to people in Garrett Wilson’s circle,” Cimini said December 19 on his podcast. “They think, now I want to emphasize this is speculation on their part, they think he will ask for a trade after the season.”

On December 2, Hughes, who has emerged as the preeminent Jets insider, said on SNY: “I know Garrett and Breece (Hall) right now have issues with what’s happening under center and I know they have a lot of issues with the offensive staff.”
So this stuff isn’t coming from people sitting in their basements in their underwear eating Cheetos posting on X.
These are real, credentialed reporters. So perhaps this isn’t a social media issue.
Some might theorize that Wilson is taking the high road publicly, but others in his camp aren’t.
If this is indeed what is going on, this is a smart PR strategy. This way Wilson keeps his great image with Jets fans, but his camp also gets its message out.
