As we all know by now, Rex Ryan is coming back as Jets coach in 2014.
He has one year left on his contract.
Ryan would like a contract extension.
“I think organizationally we’re not going to discuss my contract,” Ryan said. “You know, right now we’re not going to talk about it. Guys, I’m under contract. It says (the contract) that I’m getting paid, so … I’m not going to discuss that, guys. I’m under contract.”
That is what he told the beat writers.
But here is what is being told to the NFL Network.
“From @KimJonesSports and me: #Jets coach Rex Ryan not getting the long-term extension he covets. Team brass will only give him 1-year deal,” tweeted Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
So it looks like the Jets are going to sign-up Ryan through 2015.
