Free agent cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie made news during the season when he talked about the possibility of retirement.
“I set a goal of five years; I’ve played six,” Rodgers-Cromartie said last year while with the Denver Broncos. “It’s not set in stone. I always tell [teammates]. They always think I be joking, but I always just say it might be my last go-round.”
As former NFL coach Marv Levy used to say, “Once you talk about retirement, you are already retired.”
So any team looking to sign Rodgers-Cromartie, needs to look deeply into what he meant by that quote.
