One of the more important free additions for the Jets this off-season was 6-5, 330-pound defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw.
And the former San Francisco 49ers first-round pick flashed at today’s Jets training camp practice.
He had a strip-sack of quarterback Tyrod Taylor and also got by guard Alijah Vera-Tucker for a QB pressure.
Even though he put on 30 pounds training this off-season, he still moves very well.
His movement skills for such a huge man are why he was the 14th pick overall in the 2020 draft out of South Carolina.
A big reason the Jets signed Kinlaw this off-season was to help improve an interior run defense that was inconsistent last year, and throughout camp, the native of Port of Spain, Trinidad, has made it tough to run up the middle, especially when he’s teamed with fellow behemoth Leki Fotu, another massive DT the Jets added in the off-season.
