This isn’t trending in the right direction for Gang Green.
For the third week in a row, the Jets’ run defense struggled.
And for the third week in a row, the Jets’ run defense gave up more yards than the prior week.
First they gave up 134 rushing yards to Dallas, then 157 to New England and on Sunday night, 204 to Kansas City.
If you want to have an elite defense, you probably need to play the run better than this.
One big problem involves setting the edge, and you saw this issue rear it’s head on the the 48-yard TD run by Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco off left tackle in the first quarter.
Nobody set the edge on the left side, and Pacheco took the corner and was off to the races.
The Jets’ defensive coaches clearly need to find a way to fix their run defense, because it’s hard to win in the NFL giving up so much yardage on the ground.
