Robert Saleh blamed the media for Cadence-gate, and he has every right to.
“There is no cadence issue, there never was a cadence issue. It was created,” Saleh said.
He is right. It was created. How was it created? By somebody not correctly relaying to Rodgers what the coach said about cadence after the Jets’ loss to Denver.
A reporter told Rodgers that the coach said in his post-game press conference the team may need to “dial back a little bit” on cadence.
Saleh never used the words “dial-back.”
“I think the question may have been posed in a way that might not have been exactly what was said,” Rodgers said during his weekly appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show.”
So some in the media can circle the wagons and go after Saleh for blaming the press for this scandal, but he had every right to.
Sometimes players and coaches blame the media unfairly for stuff, but not in this case.
