Defensive end Mike DeVito is one of the Jets’ best defensive players.
It doesn’t always show up in the stats, but we all know numbers can be misleading.
“He’s been huge for us this year,” Rex Ryan said. “(He has) really stepped his game up. He was a backup, kind of rotational guy (last season). This year he knew he was coming in to be the starter and he’s been outstanding for us.
“He’s the guy that does the dirty work. We don’t play him a whole lot on the sub-team even though he’s improving as a pass rusher. He’s probably the hardest working guy on our football team and it’s paid off for him.”
