It was too easy last year . . .
Talking about opposing teams throwing on the Jets.
So they went out and tried to fix that this off-season, revamping their secondary.
“That back end, you add DJ (Reed), you add Sauce (Gardner), and (Jordan) Whitehead, and LaMarcus (Joyner) is back, just the entire group is elevated,” said Jets coach Robert Saleh.
They also could have some good depth back there thanks to young players getting experience on the job last season. It was rough at times, but some of them will grow from it, and help the Jets moving forward.
There is going to be fierce competition for roster spots in the secondary with all the new additions.
“Competition is the greatest motivator,” Saleh said.
But any way you slice it, the Jets should be improved in the secondary, both in the starting lineup and with their depth.
