Doesn’t this GM have more important things to do?
In an Athletic story with 30 sources, which must be an NFL record, an AFC GM reportedly said, “(Aaron) Rodgers isn’t the assistant GM. Joe Douglas is the assistant GM.”
That is so absurd.
Did Rodgers have input on some moves? Obviously, but what are we talking about five or six? Probably too many, of course, but what did Rodgers have to do with the 2023 Jets draft class or undrafted free agents? Nothing. Rodgers’ input is probably too much, but when you look at the big picture of the 90-man roster entering camp, or the final 53, and all the moves made during the season, Rodgers’ involvement was a flyspeck in the ocean.
What punk GM, with clearly too much time on his hands, would say something that insulting about Douglas, a man very well respected around the league?
Well there are 15 suspects. There are 16 teams in the AFC, and Douglas clearly didn’t say it.
Some advice for that unnamed AFC GM – farm your own land.
