This guy being available should help the Jets on Sunday . . .

The Jets activated WR Tim Patrick from injured reserve today. The veteran wideout missed the first month of the season with a groin injury.

The 6-5, 210-pound receiver is very underrated.

In 2020 and 21, he had 104 catches and 11 touchdowns while playing for Denver.

He played so well early in his Broncos career that he earned a nice payday in late 2021 – a three-year, $34.5 million contract extension. But then got bit by the injury bug in his last two years with the Broncos, suffering a torn ACL in 2022 and an Achilles injury in 2023.

For the most part, he was healthy the last two years, playing for Detroit and Jacksonville.

Patrick is a big, physical receiver with great hands, who is very good on 50-50 balls and is a major red zone threat.

The former University of Utah standout could provide a nice complement to Garrett Wilson. They have very different skill sets. Wilson is a speedy, shifty 6-0, 183-pound receiver with great hands, and Patrick is like a basketball forward, with great size and a huge catching radius, who is very good at winning jump-ball situations against defensive backs.

Patrick is also a very good run blocker, almost like having another tight end on the field.

So don’t sleep on how much Patrick can help the Jets, especially with two key receivers out with injuries – Omar Cooper and Adonai Mitchell.
