You could argue that one of Aaron Glenn’s best hires from his first staff was special teams coordinator Chris Banjo, just 35, and only in coaching for two years when the Jets hired him. Some people wondered if he was ready. He was ready, alright.
So you can always find good coaches to work as NFL assistants, even for a program that hasn’t made the playoffs in 15 years.
These guys move around the football world like travelling salesmen. As people often say, the NFL stands for “Not For Long.”
NFL jobs are worth their weight in gold. Jets fans should not worry about their team’s ability to find good assistants, even on short-term deals.
