Glenn on this Jets defender – ‘He can get the ball back for you’

Entering free agency, the Jets were looking for a ballhawking safety with good ball skills, and they think they have found their guy in former Jacksonville Jaguar Andre Cisco.

“He’s a really good football player – he’s a player that can get the ball back for you,” said Jets coach Aaron Glenn.

Glenn added: “When he was at Syracuse, he made a lot of plays on the ball.”

For the Orangemen, he had 13 picks in his first two seasons.

Starting for Jacksonville the last three years, he amassed eight picks and 22 PDs.

He is a smart, aware safety with good route recognition. At 6-1, he’s a good matchup for tight ends, an area in which the Jets need help.

Glenn also likes what Cisco, a Long Island-native, will bring to the Jets’ locker room.

“Number one, he’s a really, really good person,” Glenn said.

Glenn added: “He’s a true team guy.”

And the Valley Stream-native is pumped to play back in the New York-area.

“Obviously the interest in coming back home, being part of something great with Aaron Glenn at the helm,” Cisco said.

And with his nose for the ball, perhaps Cisco can help Glenn’s defense be great.
