While you want to hit on all your draft picks, the two most important rounds you must nail, to build a strong roster, are in the first and second rounds.
That is where most of the filet mignon is in the draft.
While the Jets haven’t had enough success on the field the last three years, think about what they have done in the first two rounds. This year – Armand Membou (first) and Mason Taylor (second). In 2024, Olu Fashanu was in the first round, and they had no second-round pick. In 2023, Will McDonald (first) and Joe Tippmann (second). In 2022, Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson, and Jermaine Johnson in the first, and Breece Hall in the second.
Even though they haven’t done great in the win-loss column, there is no doubt that these have been some of their best players.
And while Gardner is no longer with the team, the fact that he was traded to Indy for two first-round picks, and a former second-round receiver with an exotic size-speed ratio, shows you it was a good pick.
So after the Gardner and Quinnen Williams trades, the Jets now have:
2026 picks:
- Round 1
- Round 1
- Round 2
- Round 2
2027 picks:
- Round 1
- Round 1
- Round 1
- Round 2
If they do as well with these picks as the organization seemed to do the last three years with their first and second round picks, the Jets could be loaded for bear.
